What’s happening in Rainbow Schools?

Friday, Dec. 20th an unpaid day for permanent teachers in Rainbow Schools

There is no school on Friday, December 20th, 2013 for all students and some staff in Rainbow Schools in Sudbury, Espanola, Manitoulin Island and Shining Tree. 
Permanent teachers in elementary and secondary schools have an unpaid day off.
The Memorandum of Understanding signed by the Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario (ETFO) and the Ontario Secondary School Teachers’ Federation (OSSTF) with the Ministry of Education required that permanent teachers take December 20th as an unpaid day.
Rainbow District School Board wishes students, staff, parents/guardians and community partners a safe holiday season and a happy new year.
Classes will resume on Monday, January 6, 2014.
