What’s happening in Rainbow Schools?

Guide contains important information about Rainbow Schools

Students in Rainbow Schools in Sudbury, Espanola and Manitoulin Island can access the 2022-2023 Guide for Students and Parents/Guardians online at rainbowschools.ca. The publication contains important information that will serve as a handy reference throughout the school year.

“On behalf of Trustees, I extend a warm welcome to students and staff as we get ready to begin a new and exciting school year,” says Rainbow District School Board Chair, Bob Clement. “In Rainbow Schools, we are leaders in learning inspiring success for all students by reaching minds and touching hearts.”

He adds: “As always, parents/guardians are encouraged to take an active interest in their child’s education. Parental involvement improves student achievement. When the home, the school and the community work together, we maximize learning opportunities for students and help them achieve their full potential.”

Director of Education Bruce Bourget says the start of a new school year is much like the start of a new calendar year – a time to resolve to make the most of every opportunity. In-person learners will be able to participate in extra-curricular activities such as sports and clubs. “When students are fully engaged in school life, supported by a strong circle of caring adults, and given opportunities to be active and interact with their peers, they gain a sense of belonging which has a positive impact on mental health and well-being, and student success and achievement,” he says.

He adds: “We continue to prioritize safety, mental health, well-being and belonging, which provide a strong foundation for education. Together, we prepare students to become lifelong learners, achieving their full potential as confident, caring members of society.”

The Guide for Students and Parents/Guardians contains information about services, programs and policies, including the Code of Conduct. It also features key dates, such as school holidays, provincial assessments, professional activity days and secondary school examination days.
