Hair today. Gone tomorrow. Grade 3 student donates locks for cancer patients
A Grade 3 student at Queen Elizabeth II Public School is feeling a little lighter this week. Rogan Parsons recently got his first haircut ever and donated his locks for cancer patients.
The big day occurred on March 5, 2026. Surrounded by his family, Rogan made his way to a local shop, sat in the styling chair and, with anticipation, donned the traditional cape.
Under the watchful eye of an experienced stylist, sister Storm had the honour of removing Rogan’s long braid with clippers. “I’m going to cry,” said mom Amelia as she recorded a video of the memorable occasion.
Rogan was now ready for his transformation.
“This is especially close to Rogan’s heart because his mom has been fighting cancer for some time now,” said Queen Elizabeth II Public School Principal Rachel Booker. “His mom is so proud of him and we are too. He has touched all of us with his act of kindness.”
“I like my new haircut. I’m donating my hair for cancer and it makes me feel good because my mom has cancer,” said Rogan.
