Lasalle Secondary School hosts Festival Music Celebration February 28th

The Lasalle Secondary School Music Department will host its first  “Festival Music Celebration” on Monday, February 28, 2011 from 7 pm to 9 pm in the school gym.

The concert will feature Lasalle Secondary School’s seven performing music groups: the Junior Jazz Ensemble, Senior Jazz Ensemble, Intermediate Concert Band, Senior Concert Band, Orchestra, Choir and Guitar Ensemble.

The evening will feature a variety of music styles showcasing the artistic range of each group.  Those in attendance will be among the first to hear “Chillin’ With Some Blues”, an original piece written by music teacher Marc Savard for the Guitar Ensemble.

“Our music teachers, Mr. Marc Savard, Mr. Peter Scherzinger and Mr. Matthew Beatty are excited about the new concert and look forward to sharing Lasalle’s talent with the school and community,” said Principal Jeff McKibbon. “Everyone is invited to attend.”

A matinée for feeder schools will be held from 12:15 pm to 1:30 pm on February 28th.

The price of admission for the evening concert will be a donation.

Refreshments and baked goods will be on sale during intermission.
