Lasalle Secondary School presents “The Frogs: A Modern Adaptation”
The Lasalle Secondary School Black Box Theatre presents “The Frogs: A Modern Adaptation” from Thursday, May 31, 2018 to Saturday, June 2, 2018.
The play will take place at 7:30 pm at Lasalle Secondary School.
Based on the Broadway comedy show by Stephen Sondheim and Burt Shevelove, “The Frogs: A Modern Adaptation” follows the God Dionysus as he journeys to Hades to free Shakespeare.
His hope? That he can save the world from the modern day brain-rotting entertainment by getting him a large budget time slot on HBO.
In today’s world, photos, movies, and television shows are accessible with the flick of a finger.
What does this say about the current state of art within mass entertainment?
How, in a world with so much, can we find art that brings about a new understanding of the human experience?
And…what has this done to the society that consumes this entertainment?
Join Dionysus on his quest to figure out what technology has done to art, and how our constant access to technology has changed us as a society.
Tickets are $5 for students and $10 for adults, available at the school’s main office, at the door or by contacting Ashley Paige Fraser at 705-566-2280 or [email protected].
Lasalle Secondary School is located at 1545 Kennedy Street, Sudbury.
