The 2024-2025 school year begins early for teachers and support staff as they participate in a Professional Activity Day before classes resume next week.

Parents/guardians who have children in Rainbow Schools can learn more about PA Days by visiting the board website.

“Students are not in school during PA Days, however, teachers and support staff are,” says Director of Education Bruce Bourget. “They will gain more skills and knowledge to further support students in the classroom.”

He adds: “The PA Days will focus on curriculum updates, literacy and numeracy, mental health and well-being, student success, equity and inclusive education, and health and safety.”

The Ministry of Education provides the focus for professional learning. School boards deliver presentations and/or workshops in keeping with provincial and local priorities.

June 6, 2025

Parents/guardians are invited to visit the Board website throughout the school year for updates in advance of each PA Day.

The first day of school for students is Tuesday, September 3, 2024.
