The 2025-2026 school year begins early for teachers and support staff as they participate in a Professional Activity Day on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, the day before classes resume.
“During PA Days, students are not in school but their administrators, teachers and support staff are as school boards deliver presentations and/or workshops focused on provincial and local priorities,” said Rainbow District School Board Director of Education Bruce Bourget.
He added: “Staff participate in professional learning to gain more knowledge and skills to further support student achievement, well-being and safety throughout the school year.”

Parents/guardians are invited to visit rainbowschools.ca throughout the school year to learn more about the focus of professional learning for staff.
