The 2023-2024 school year begins early for teachers and support staff as they participate in Professional Activity Days before classes resume next week.

Parents/guardians who have children in Rainbow Schools can learn more about the PA Days on Friday, September 1, 2023 and Tuesday, September 5, 2023 by visiting the Rainbow District School Board website at rainbowschools.ca.

“Students are not in school on PA Days, but teachers and support staff are,” says Director of Education Bruce Bourget. “They will be gaining more skills and knowledge to further support students in the classroom.”

He adds: “The upcoming PA Days will focus on curriculum updates, literacy and numeracy, mental health and well-being, student success and health and safety.”

The Ministry of Education provides the focus for professional learning. School boards deliver presentations and/or workshops in keeping with provincial and local priorities.

June 10, 2024

Parents/guardians are invited to visit the Board website throughout the school year for updates in advance of each PA Day.

The first day of school for students is Wednesday, September 6, 2023.
