Levack Public School hosts Healthy Eating Spectacular on March 10th
Students are cooking up something special at Levack Public School – fruit salsa with baked tortilla chips, vegetarian chili, buns and fruit crisp.
The nutritious meal will be served to families at the school’s Healthy Eating Spectacular on Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at 5 pm.
“We have invited students with their families to return to school for a meal they have prepared with the Sudbury & District Health Unit,” says Principal Stephen Winckel.
He adds: “It’s part of our ongoing efforts to educate parents and children about the importance of healthy eating.”
Students will participate in fun nutrition-themed activities. Parents/guardians will gain healthy lunch ideas from a registered dietitian and public health nurse.
“We welcome this opportunity to engage our parents in their child’s learning about nutrition and well-being,” says Principal Winckel. “We thank the Sudbury & District Health Unit for being our partners in the process. Our students will gain essential skills that will last a lifetime.”
Levack Public School’s Healthy Eating Spectacular is funded with a Parents Reaching Out Grant from the Ministry of Education.
