Lively District Secondary School Hawks play hockey for Heart and Stroke
Students from Lively District Secondary School in Grades 7 to 12 will compete in “Hawks Hockey for Heart” to raise awareness and funds for the Heart and Stroke Foundation. The second annual ball hockey tournament takes place on Wednesday, February 29, 2012.
Lively District Secondary School has been supporting Heart and Stroke for the past five years. To date, the school has raised over $18,000 during Heart Month.
“Leading a healthy lifestyle is one of the most important ways of preventing heart disease,” said Lively District Secondary School Principal Leslie Mantle.
She added: “Our goal is to raise $5,000 this year and we are, once again, looking to the community to join with our students and staff in supporting this worthy cause.”
All money raised from tournament entry fees and community donations will go directly towards the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
