Lively District Secondary School hits the rink for Heart and Stroke
Lively District Secondary School will hit the rink to raise awareness and funds for the Heart and Stroke Foundation. On Wednesday, February 23, 2011, students from Grades 7 to 12 will compete in a ball hockey tournament to promote healthy, active living.
Lively District Secondary School has been supporting Heart and Stroke for the past three years. To date, the school has raised over $10,000 during Heart Month.
“Leading a healthy lifestyle is one of the most important ways of preventing heart disease,” said Lively District Secondary School Principal Leslie Mantle.
She added: “Our goal is to raise $5,000 this year and we are, once again, looking to the community to join with our students and staff in supporting this worthy cause.”
All money raised from tournament entry fees and community donations will go directly towards the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
To make a donation or to obtain more information about the tournament, please contact Matt Cootes at Lively District Secondary School, 705-692-3671, ext. 6454.
