Lively District Secondary School scores major donation from Major Drilling

Lively District Secondary School will be able to realize a long-standing goal for its athletic programs after scoring a $10,000 donation from Major Drilling on November 16, 2023.

Funds will go towards the purchase and installation of a new scoreboard and shot clocks for the school gym.

The school community had already raised half of the amount required to purchase and install the equipment. The generous donation from Major Drilling will make it a reality.

With a close connection to the school, Major Drilling Operations Manager Cody Lanovaz is delighted to contribute to Lively District Secondary School.

“As a company committed to community enrichment, we believe in investing in education and supporting local initiatives,” said Cody Lanovaz. “Together, we aim to empower the next generation through education and sports.”

“We are so grateful to Cody Lanovaz and the Major Drilling team for closing the gap in our funding needs for this whole-school initiative,” said Principal Susan Kett.

She added: “These enhancements will benefit our student athletes for years to come.”

With a scoreboard and shot clocks, Lively District Secondary School will now be able to play their home games for basketball and volleyball in their own community.

This will benefit athletes, coaches and spectators alike. Go Hawks Go!
