Lockerby Composite School hosts Open House for Grade 8 students on December 8th

Grade 8 students and their parents/guardians are invited to an in-person Open House at Lockerby Composite School on Thursday, December 8, 2022 at 7 pm.

All students are invited regardless of which elementary school they currently attend.

Those unable to attend in person are welcome to visit lockerbyopenhouse.ca.

“The Open House will give prospective students the opportunity to communicate with staff, who will highlight the many programs at Lockerby Composite School,” says Principal Craig Runciman. “Join us to see what life is like as a Viking!”

Lockerby Composite School is home to the Science Technology Education Program (STEP).

Busing to Rainbow District School Board’s specialized secondary school programs is offered to students within Greater Sudbury.

STEP enjoys a rich tradition at the school, and is recognized as one of the most innovative secondary school programs in Ontario.

With a focus on math, science and technology, STEP is for students contemplating a career in medicine, science, health care, computer science, design or engineering.

STEP students are actively engaged in their learning by keeping pace with the latest trends in science and technology through involvement in the Advanced Placement (AP) Capstone program and AP courses, the provincially recognized Specialist High Skills Majors in Health and Wellness, Information and Communications Technology, and Mining, as well as courses in architecture, interior design, medical biology and medical technology.

Lockerby Composite School is located at 1391 Ramsey View Court in Sudbury.
