What’s happening in Rainbow Schools?

Manitoulin Secondary School students returning home due to small fire

Staff and students at Manitoulin Secondary School were safely evacuated at approximately 9:10 am on Tuesday, April 19, 2011.

There was a small fire in a boys’ washroom.

The fire was quickly extinguished, however, there is a strong smell of smoke in the building.

Parents/guardians are advised that students are being sent home while the school is being cleaned and aired out.

The Sudbury Student Services Consortium is co-ordinating transportation.

Classes are expected to resume tomorrow, as scheduled.

The Fire Department and Police are on site investigating the incident.
