May 2: Rainbow Schools celebrate Music Monday

Rainbow Schools are celebrating Music Monday on May 2, 2016, the world’s largest single event dedicated to raising awareness for music education. Each year, hundreds of thousands of students, educators, and music makers across Canada participate in a simultaneous nationwide concert performance of an original song written by a Canadian artist.  This year the song is We Are One by Connor Ross.

A.B. Ellis Public School will host a school-wide sing-a-long and the school’s concert band will perform.

Adamsdale Public School
The Adamsdale Talent Show will be held in the morning, with students showcasing their singing, dancing and instrumental talents.  Students, staff and guests will then be invited to sing this year’s Music Monday anthem, We Are One, at the conclusion of the performances.

Alexander Public School
Alexander students, under the direction of music teacher Barb Jeffrey, will hold pop-up concerts throughout the day, held in a variety of locations around the school as well as broadcast over the PA system.
