May 7 and 8: Copper Cliff Public School hosts fundraiser in support of student
Copper Cliff Public School is reaching out to the community to help a student in need.
The school will host a fundraiser for 12-year-old Maria L. who has spina bifida.
“Maria has been at Sick Kids Hospital for the last month,” said Principal Chris Bourré.
“We want to help Maria’s family with the costs of staying in Toronto.”
He adds: “We also want to show Maria that we are supporting her every step of the way.”
Copper Cliff Public School will be accepting cash donations on Tuesday, May 7th and Wednesday, May 8th from 3 pm to 6 pm.
The school is also inviting the community to drop off their empty beer bottles and liquor bottles. The school will redeem them to contribute to the cause.
“This will enable us to add to the money we have raised so far through student and staff donations and hot dog sales,” says Principal Bourré.
Copper Cliff Public School thanks the community for its support.
