NHL Alumni Marty McSorley at Confederation SS

NHL Alumni Marty McSorley visited students at Confederation Secondary School on Thursday, October 28th, 2010 to share his journey as a professional hockey player.

While at the school, he met Grade 11 student Delmar Garlinski,  a para-olympian who aspires to participate in the Para Olympics for sledge hockey.

McSorley and representatives from various charities were on hand to speak about career opportunities available in the field of sports.  Students gained an appreciation of the importance of team sports and teamwork, camaraderie, discipline and the spirit of competition.

As part of the presentation sponsored by Scotiabank, NHL Alumni squared off against The Law Enforcement All Stars at the Garson Community Centre at 7 pm on October 28, 2010. The NHL Almuni Benefit Game was in support of Special Olympics Ontario and The Law Enforcement Torch Run.
