SUDBURY, ON – The Northern Ontario Music Festival returns to its newly renovated home this week in the F. W. Sheridan Auditorium at Sudbury Secondary School.
On Thursday, February 27 and Friday, February 28, 2014, over 30 school ensembles, concert bands, jazz ensembles and guitar ensembles from throughout Northern Ontario will showcase their talent and hard work.
This regional festival is an opportunity for musical groups to qualify for invitations to perform at the national MusicFest Canada, which will be held in Richmond, B.C. in May 2014.
Performances begin at 9 am each day and will run until approximately 4:30 pm.
They are open to the general public. General daily admission is $3. Student groups are welcome and are free of charge if accompanied by a teacher.
Following each performance, student musicians will take part in workshops with adjudicators Steve McDade, Dr. Jane Saunders, Blair McNally, Dick vanRaadshooven and Jack Broumpton.
The Northern Ontario Music Festival would like to thank festival supporters and host sponsors including the Rainbow District School Board, the Sudbury Catholic District School Board, Intensive Care Repair, Prom Music and the Sudbury Symphony Orchestra.
