Parents invited to register their children for Kindergarten Camp
Rainbow District School Board will offer a free Kindergarten Camp for children starting school this fall.
The nine-day program will run from 9 am to 12 pm weekdays from Monday, August 19, 2019 to Thursday, August 29, 2019 at all schools offering Kindergarten.
Children must be registered to attend school where the program is being offered.
Sufficient registration is required to ensure the viability of each program.
“Kindergarten Camp introduces children to the wonderful experiences that await them in Rainbow Schools,” says Director of Education Norm Blaseg. “It is intended to ease the transition. Children can become familiar with staff and surroundings, meet classmates, and get excited about their first day of school.”
Under the guidance of qualified teachers and designated early childhood educators, children will engage in a variety of daily routines and inquiry based learning opportunities including co-operative games and outdoor exploration. The program will focus on collaboration, problem solving and innovation, and math and literacy.
To register for Kindergarten Camp, please contact your child’s school by Friday, June 21, 2019. After this date, please email [email protected].
If you have not registered your child for school, there is still time to do so. You can begin the process online at the following link: https://www.rainbowschools.ca/register-now/registration/
The first day of school is Wednesday, September 4, 2019. There will be no early dismissal on the first day.
