Rainbow Board and OSSTF occasional teachers reach tentative local agreement
Rainbow District School Board and the Federation representing approximately 115 occasional secondary teachers in Sudbury, Espanola and Manitoulin Island have reached a tentative agreement at the local level.
Details of the agreement will be presented to members of the Ontario Secondary School Teachers’ Federation (OSSTF) District 3 and Rainbow District School Board Trustees for ratification.
If ratified, the new deal will be in effect from September 1, 2022 to August 31, 2026, aligning with the provincial settlement at the central bargaining table.
“Once again, we commend the bargaining teams from the Board and the Federation for working together to achieve a tentative agreement at the local level – this time for occasional teachers in our secondary schools,” said Rainbow District School Board Chair David Farrow. “Occasional teachers are valued members of our educational community who support student success.”
“We are pleased to have reached this tentative agreement locally for our secondary occasional teachers represented by the OSSTF District 3 teachers bargaining unit,” said TBU President Eric Laberge. “We value our partnership with Rainbow District School Board as we work together to give students every opportunity to reach their full potential.”
