Rainbow Board highlights priorities in 2026-2027 Welcome Video
Rainbow District School Board today launched a Welcome Video for the 2026-2027 School Year that highlights its Strategic Directions through images of student success.
“They say a picture is worth a thousand words,” said Chief Executive Officer Bruce Bourget. “We invite the community to get a glimpse inside Rainbow Schools to learn more about our vision, mission, values and priorities. The images reflect the many learning opportunities that await students as they begin a new school year.”
CEO Bouget said there is excitement in the air as more than 14,000 students continue their journey of learning in Rainbow Schools in Sudbury, Espanola and Manitoulin Island.
“Our primary focus right from the start is to create warm and welcoming environments where students experience a strong sense of belonging at school,” he said. “We encourage students to get involved in sports, music, clubs and events so they become fully engaged in school life. Students receive a well-rounded education when they participate in co-curricular opportunities which open doors to new friendships through shared interests.”
Rainbow District School Board has adopted six priorities – Student Success and Achievement, Truth and Reconciliation, Literacy and Numeracy, Mental Health and Well-being, Environmental Education and Sustainability, and Equity and Inclusive Education.
“Our priorities work in tandem to build a solid foundation for success and overall well-being as together, we prepare students to become lifelong learners, achieving their full potential as confident, caring members of society,” said CEO Bourget.
Rainbow District School Board has adopted the Seven Grandfather Teachings – humility, bravery, honesty, wisdom, truth and respect – braided together with resilience, equity and community as its values, which provide the focus for ongoing character development.
