Rainbow Board launches new online registration tool

Rainbow District School Board has launched a new online registration tool for parents/guardians and adult learners.

Parents/guardians and adult learners can start the registration process by completing the form at the following link: tinyurl.com/RegisterRainbowSchools

“As we enter the third week of school, we wanted to facilitate the registration process to get students in class as soon as possible,” said Rainbow District School Board Chief Executive Officer Bruce Bourget.

CEO Bourget said that at the start of a new school year some students arrive after the school year has already begun, particularly families who are new to Sudbury, Espanola and Manitoulin.

He added: “Children who are turning four at the end of the calendar year are eligible to start school now and take part in the new Kindergarten curriculum with increased emphasis on reading, writing, math, science and technology. Earlier starts lead to brighter futures.”

The online tool captures essential information. Schools will follow up directly with families to complete the process in person, including required documentation.

The online registration tool can also be used to register for Barrydowne College, Adult Education and the N’Swakamok Alternative School.

“If you left school before graduating, it’s never too late to come back to get a diploma,” said CEO Bourget. “Programs are available for 18 to 21 year olds, Indigenous learners and adult students.”

He added: “The start of a new school year is the ideal time to resolve to earn your diploma and open doors for your future.”
