Rainbow District School Board employees contribute to Elgin Street Mission

Rainbow District School Board employees at the Board Office donated $1,000 to the Elgin Street Mission on July 7th, 2010.

Director of Education Jean Hanson presented the donation to Pastor René Soullière surrounded by employees, including, from left, Karla Lisi (Human Resources), Kim Redmond (Finance), Maureen Egan (Administration), Barb Hamilton (Plant) and Bev Webb (Human Resources).

“In Rainbow Schools, we focus on character development and building a just, humane, democratic, respectful society,” said Director Hanson. “Pastor Soullière and the volunteers from the Elgin Street Mission bring life to those words.”

Pastor Soullière said the Elgin Street Mission is all about “people helping people” and he thanked Rainbow District School Board employees for making a difference.

A piece of art produced by students from Rainbow Schools was also presented to Pastor Soullière. “The circle of people made by little people is symbolic of everything that we do,” he said. “All different hands join together to help everyone in the community.”
