Rainbow District School Board Selects SRBs Trillium Student Information Suite
Rainbow District School Board signed an agreement with SRB Education Solutions Inc. today to license the Trillium Student Information Suite to manage student data. Secondary schools will start using Trillium in September 2012. Elementary schools will begin migrating to the new system in the 2011-2012 school year.
“Rainbow District School Board’s current student information system is being discontinued,” said Director of Education Norm Blaseg. “This prompted us to carry out a comprehensive review of our options. We selected Trillium following an extensive product evaluation with valuable input from stakeholders.”
He added: “Trillium is being used by 42 school boards in Ontario. It is a proven product that will enable our school staff to easily manage student information, including attendance and marks. There is also an option for a parent interface, which will enable us to further enhance communication between school and home.”
“SRB and the Trillium team welcome Rainbow Schools into our community,” stated Steve Thompson, President and CEO, SRB Education Solutions Inc. “Migrating from one student information system to another takes significant resources. It’s a decision school boards do not make lightly.”
He added: “We commend Rainbow District School Board for taking this opportunity to perform a detailed study of its options. Trillium is an established Ontario-compliant student information system that will enable the Board to continue to respond to two key priorities – student success and efficient resource management.”
“We truly appreciate the thoroughness of Rainbow’s process and research,” said Art Hale, General Manager – Trillium Division. “The Trillium Student Information Suite has deep roots in Ontario, ensuring close synchronization between the needs of School Districts with those of the Ministry of Education and other agencies. Together, we’re sustaining and evolving the number one platform for student success in Ontario.”
