Rainbow District School Board welcomes 13,083 students on September 4th
According to official predicted enrolment for the start of the 2019-2020 school year, Rainbow District School Board will welcome 13,083 students in Rainbow Schools when classes resume on Wednesday, September 4, 2019. There will be no early dismissal on the first day of school.
In the elementary panel, enrolment will total 8,741 students including 5,900 in the English Program and 2,841 in the French Immersion Program.
In the secondary panel, enrolment is expected to reach 4,342 students including 3,676 in the English Program and 666 in the French Immersion Program.
Enrolment is calculated as full-time equivalents.
This fall, 1,547 children are expected to be enrolled in Kindergarten in Rainbow Schools, a full-day program for four and five-year-olds.
A total of 897 students have registered for Grade 9 classes in area Rainbow Schools.
Official enrolment data will be available at the end of October.
Rainbow District School Board is the largest school board in Northern Ontario with 32 elementary school buildings and 9 secondary school buildings in Sudbury, Espanola and Manitoulin.
The Board also offers other programs – Child and Adolescent Mental Health Program, Cecil Facer School, N’Swakamok Native Friendship Centre, Children’s Treatment Centre, O’Connor Park, Applied Behaviour Analysis program, Restart, Simulated Healthy Independent Living Opportunities (SHILO) program, Attendance Centre, Mishko-Ode-Wendam, Northern Support Initiative, Frank Flowers School and Barrydowne College operating at Cambrian College.
