Rainbow Schools collecting gently used winter clothing

Rainbow Schools are making this winter a little warmer by participating in the Winter Clothing Drive powered by Cooper Equipment Rentals in support of Our Children, Our Future.

Members of the community are invited to drop off gently used winter clothing at any of the Rainbow District School Board’s elementary and secondary schools in Sudbury, Espanola and Manitoulin Island until November 8, 2019.

Clothing will be redistributed within the schools and communities served by the Board.

“This is our fifth year participating in the Winter Clothing Campaign,” said R.H. Murray Public School Principal Chris Bourré who is co-ordinating the effort on behalf of Rainbow Schools.

“Last year, Rainbow Schools collected 6,337 items of clothing, from coats and boots, to hats and mitts. Thanks to generous community donations, a total of 16,555 clothing items were distributed to approximately 5,500 children in need across the city.”

He added: “In Rainbow Schools, we nurture the physical, mental, social and emotional well-being of students. We are proud to join with Cooper Equipment Rentals and community partners to help keep families warm this winter. We thank everyone for their continued support.”

In addition to Rainbow Schools, clothing will be redistributed to the community at the Southridge Mall located at 1933 Regent Street in Sudbury from November 13 to 17, 2019.
