Rainbow Schools raise $9,510 in Water Walk

A total of $9,510 was raised by the 2,000 students in Rainbow Schools who participated in the event in support of Sudbury Minga for Maasai and Free the Children.

The event took place at Cyril Varney Public School, Algonquin Road Public School, Long Lake Public School, Northeastern Elementary School, Carl A. Nesbitt Public School, Wembley Public School and Churchill Public School.

Grade 8 student Liam Passi at Churchill Public School donated $1,100 to the campaign – all of his proceeds from his Entrepreneurship Fair project.

Students have applied for matching corporate donations through The Big Dreamers Foundation and have been successful in acquiring an additional $3,000 to support their initiative, bringing total donations to $12,510 for Sudbury Minga for Maasai.

This event was organized by students and led by students to raise awareness of global issues, build good citizens, nurture leadership skills and empower youth to be agents of change.
