Rainbow students participate in Sudbury Regional Science Fair on April 1 and 2

A number of students in Grades 7 and 8 from Rainbow Schools will take part in the Sudbury Regional Science Fair at Laurentian University’s Alumni Hall on April 1 and 2, 2023.

Students won the honour to compete at the regional level following the Rainbow District School Board Elementary Science Fair held at Lockerby Composite School on March 7, 2023. Projects from the Sudbury Regional Science Fair will be selected for the Canada-Wide Science Fair in Edmonton from May 17 to 19, 2023.

“Students who prepare Science Fair projects let their curiosity guide them as they question, observe and explore,” said Rainbow District School Board Director of Education Bruce Bourget. “We wish all participants success as they vie to compete at the national level.”

Working on Science Fair projects gives students the opportunity to actively engage in authentic learning. As they investigate questions that are real, students enhance their scientific skills and further their interest in science related careers.
