Reading Town: Princess Anne hosts author Cary Fagan for Read Aloud May 3rd

Author Cary Fagan will join Princess Anne Public School students in a dramatic Read Aloud of his children’s book “Mr. Zinger’s Hat” on Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at 11 am. The author’s visit is part of Reading Town, the National Reading Campaign’s annual festival taking place in Greater Sudbury next week.

The goal of the Read Aloud event is to establish a record for the most people reading the same book at the same time, in multiple languages. A number of Rainbow Schools are participating in English and French along with local libraries, senior centres, Best Start Hubs and a reading at NEO Kids at Health Sciences North.

“Our students are very excited for Cary Fagan to visit our school,” says Princess Anne Public School Principal Danielle Williamson. “This event will emphasize the importance of reading, the foundation for all learning. It will also be a tremendous show of community as students and staff across Rainbow Schools join together for a collective Read Aloud.” She adds: “We also look forward to welcoming Deputy Mayor Joscelyne Landry-Altmann to Princess Anne. It will be a great event for all participants.”
