Ready to roll: Evolutionary Band launches concert season on March 10th

The Evolutionary Band will launch its 37th concert season with a performance at Confederation Secondary School on Friday, March 10th, 2017 at noon. The band will play for more than 500 students from six area schools.

“Evolutionary’s popularity is at an all-time high,” says Music Director Norm McIntosh. “Our concert schedule for the year has been fully booked since last fall. The students have been rehearsing non-stop since September and are ready to roll.”

The talented students have devoted more than 180 hours after school to perfecting their music and show. The set list includes songs by Aerosmith, Tragically Hip, Michael Jackson, Trews, Red Hot Chili Peppers, AC/DC, Monster Truck Band and many others.

“The students in the band and crew are really looking forward to getting out there and showing everyone what they can do,” says Norm McIntosh. “We are all excited to hit the stage.”

Evolutionary was recently featured in a mini doc produced by Bolthouse Media. “We were very proud to have our young people recognized internationally,” says McIntosh. “It was a privilege for us to share our success story.” The video is now available on You Tube at the following link – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=246gS6KtXe0

Evolutionary is a 24-piece rock band that includes four vocalists, a nine-piece rhythm section, a 14-piece rock horn section, and a 12-member stage crew. As Action Sudbury’s “No Drinking and Driving” Band, Evolutionary has earned a solid reputation for its dynamic performances.

The band tours from March until June, performing in front of more than 8,000 students per year. Their shows include a high-energy, choreographed presentation with an exciting light display featuring lasers, strobes, smoke machines and intelligent lighting.
