Revised schedule: French Immersion Program Review community consultations
Rainbow District School Board has revised the schedule of meetings for the French Immersion Program Review taking place this spring. Two community consultation sessions will now be held for all schools in the Greater Sudbury area. Everyone is welcome to attend these meetings to provide input, regardless of which area of the city they live in.

Presentations will be limited to 10 minutes. Written copies must be made available prior to the meeting and submitted to the French immersion Program Review Committee for the minutes.
For those unable to attend public meetings or wishing to provide further feedback, written input will be accepted until Friday, June 24, 2011.

Rainbow District School Board trustees approved a review of the Board’s French Immersion Program at the annual Accommodation Meeting held on January 24, 2011. A French Immersion Program Committee, comprised of teachers and administrators in French Immersion, has been established to lead the process and provide options.
Options will be presented at the Policy and Finance Committee meeting of the Board on Monday, May 9, 2011 at 5 pm. The meeting will be held at the Board Office, Centre for Education, 408 Wembley Drive, in Sudbury. Options may include boundary changes, consolidation of programs and revisions to Rainbow District School Board’s secondary French Immersion graduation requirements.
