Sudbury Construction Association supports student success in Tech Skills

Students from Rainbow Schools boarded a bus to Waterloo to participate in the Ontario Technological Skills Competition from April 30th to May 2nd, 2012 thanks to support from the Sudbury Construction Association once again this year. The Sudbury Construction Association has donated $2,500 towards the cost of transportation. Students from Rainbow Schools will participate in the Ontario Technological Skills Competition in Waterloo from April 30th to May 3rd, 2012 with support from the Sudbury Construction Association. The Sudbury Construction Association has donated $2,500 towards the cost of transportation once again this year.

“We would like to thank the Sudbury Construction Association and its members for their ongoing support,” said Rainbow District School Board Chair Doreen Dewar. “Through this generous contribution, the Sudbury Construction Association is helping to nurture our future workforce in the trades. We are proud of our provincial competitors and wish everyone continued success.” 

Denis Shank, the Executive Director of the Sudbury Construction Association, was on hand to see the students off as they boarded their bus for Waterloo. “The Sudbury Construction Association is pleased to renew its support to encourage young people to consider the trades as possible career paths,” said Denis Shank.

“Our members represent a dynamic and diverse sector. We recognize that we have an important role to play in helping young people develop their skills in the trades.” He added: “The Sudbury Construction Association congratulates all participants in the Ontario Technological Skills Competition. We are delighted that we have been able to go the extra mile to make the journey possible.”
