Sudbury Secondary School celebrates creativity at Look @ Media! on May 25th

Sudbury Secondary School invites the public to come celebrate student creativity on Monday, May 25, 2026 at 7 pm at Sudbury Indie Cinema, 162 Mackenzie Street in Sudbury.

“Look @ Media!” will feature a curated selection of short films, animations and digital storytelling projects – all developed by the talented students of Sudbury Secondary School’s Media Arts program.

“Students take on all aspects of production, including directing, editing and design,” says media arts teacher Stephane Ostrander. “This event is a highlight of the school year that provides students with a rare opportunity to see their work move beyond a computer screen and onto the big screen.”

“Media Arts is a unique offering in the Arts Education program at Sudbury Secondary School,” says Principal Heather Downey. “Students explore their passion in a variety of mediums, including digital art, film and video, digital photography, 3D modelling, video game design, graphic novels, animation and more.”

The Media Arts program at Sudbury Secondary School focuses on student-centered learning. Students propose projects and develop learning goals and success criteria along with their teacher.

“Through the creative process, students refine their skills and learn new skills,” says teacher Stephane Ostrander. “Students can work on their own or in groups. They have many opportunities to collaborate on bigger projects with like-minded peers.”

“Everyone is welcome to join us for ‘Look @ Media!’ as students showcase their creative vision in storytelling and multimedia production,” says Principal Heather Downey. “Don’t miss it!”

Admission is by a suggested $5 donation. All proceeds will support future opportunities for students in the Arts Education Program.
