Sudbury Secondary School hosts Virtual Information Night on January 13th

Grade 8 students and their parents/guardians are invited to tune in to Sudbury Secondary School’s Virtual Information Night on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at 6:30 pm. The presentation will be available at sudburysecondary.net. All students are invited to participate regardless of which elementary school they currently attend.

“Our presentation will highlight opportunities in academics, athletics and arts education,” says Principal David Bertrim. “Everyone is welcome to join us online.”

In addition to an Ontario Secondary School Diploma, Sudbury Secondary School students have the option to graduate with an Arts Education Certificate, French Immersion certificate, and provincially recognized Specialist High Skills Major in Arts and Culture.

Arts Education includes comprehensive training in dance, theatre, instrumental music, vocal music, media studies and visual arts from educators who are specialists in their disciplines. Busing to Rainbow District School Board’s specialized secondary school programs is offered to students within Greater Sudbury.

Students enjoy learning in the renovated facility with a spectacular arts wing featuring a dance studio, drama studio/black box theatre, media lab with green screen, visual arts studios, Mac lab, photography classroom and darkroom, vocal and instrumental music rooms and practice rooms, and a 440-seat auditorium to showcase student talent. Classrooms and the gymnasium have also been updated, making Sudbury Secondary School a modern and dynamic learning environment.
