Walden Public School garners first place in bin decorating contest
Walden Public School garnered first place for their creative snowbin as part of the Winter Clothing Drive powered by Cooper Equipment Rentals’ bin decorating contest. For their efforts, the school will receive a prize valued at $500 generously donated by the Sudbury Police Association.
All schools participating in the clothing drive were challenged to design and decorate their collection bins. “There were some pretty amazing entries for the contest,” said Derek Cashmore, Regional Sales Manager with Cooper Equipment Rentals. “The decorated bins were a true display of collaboration, hard work and originality.”
“We are thrilled to come out on top,” said Stephen Winckel, Principal of Walden Public School. “I extend a special thank you to staff members Sheena Moyle and Sarah Haywood for taking the lead.”
Rainbow Schools have been collecting gently used winter clothing for the drive in support of Our Children, Our Future.
“On behalf of the 2018 Winter Clothing Drive powered by Cooper Equipment Rentals, I would like thank you all for your support,” said Derek Cashmore. “I applaud your willingness to teach and encourage “neighbours helping neighbours.”
Members of the community are invited to drop off clothing items at any of the Rainbow District School Board’s elementary and secondary schools in Sudbury, Espanola and Manitoulin Island until October 31, 2018.
Clothing will be redistributed within the schools and communities served by the Board.
In addition to Rainbow Schools, clothing will be redistributed through Dalron located at 955 Cambrian Heights in Sudbury from November 3 to 7, 2018.
