Walden Public School student to cut hair in support of Sick Kids hospital
Walden Public School student Myah Letford has beautiful long hair, but on Friday, June 2, 2017, she will cut it off for a good cause.
The Grade 4 student is calling on the community to help her raise $1,000 in support of Sick Kids hospital in Toronto.
“No donation is too small or too big,” says Myah Letford, who was inspired to donate her hair after a classmate had done so.
“Myah’s selflessness and courage is a source of pride for Walden Public School,” says Principal Chris Bourré. “This is a great display of leadership and citizenship on her part.”
He adds: “Sick Kids hospital is a worthy cause. We are happy to contribute to their important research.”
Myah Letford’s haircut will take place Friday, June 2, 2017 at 2 pm at Walden Public School, 249 Sixth Avenue in Lively, in the gym. The public is welcome to attend.
Donations can be dropped off at Walden Home Hardware, Toppers Pizza Lively, Duke’s Sports Bar, Mr. J’s Roadhouse, Guardian Drugs, Walden Day Care, Walden Public School and Lively Chiropractic and Wellness Centre.
