Lansdowne Public School is a dynamic Kindergarten to Grade 8 school offering both English and French Immersion programming to approximately 295 students. We are proud to offer an Ojibwe Language Program and provide ongoing support to our First Nations, Métis, and Inuit students and families through an Indigenous Support Worker.

At Lansdowne Public School, our students are at the heart of everything we do. Our dedicated staff is committed to fostering academic excellence, responsible citizenship, and personal growth in a safe, inclusive, and caring environment where everyone belongs.

We offer a wide range of special events and extracurricular activities to spark our students’ interests and talents. From sports like basketball, volleyball and cross-country to clubs such as choir, chess, Go Green, and Lansdowne’s Got Talent, there’s something for everyone. Thanks to support from community partners like the Horticultural Society, VETAC, and the Kiwanis, our schoolyard has been transformed into a vibrant outdoor space with beautiful gardens, seating stones, and a Gaga Ball pit and soccer goal posts that encourage active play and social interaction.

Community partnerships are very important for our school culture. Every day, our students benefit from breakfast and snack programs supported by Better Beginnings Better Futures. The YMCA Daycare operates onsite, offering care from infancy through school age, along with before and after-school care to school-aged children. We are also grateful for our ongoing relationships with organizations such as N’Swakamok Native Friendship Centre, Shkagamik-Kwe Health Centre, the Donovan West End Action Committee Network and many more.

This past year, students enjoyed enriching experiences like gardening with DEWCAN during Cultivate Your Garden, making bannock at Shkagamik-Kwe, attending a symphony performance at the public library, participating in a school-wide scavenger hunt, and celebrating together during our year-end Play Day.

As we look ahead to the 2026–2027 school year, we’re excited for another vibrant year of learning, connection and growth.
